THE DRIVING TEST IN Larne
Test centres are located in such a way so to incorporate as many diverse road types as possible – Larne Driving Test Centre being no exception. During a practical driving test, rural country roads will feature taking you into the various villages. Situated close to the A8, dual carriageways are also frequently taken during a test.
Such roads feature large multi-lane roundabouts. Within Larne itself, driving examiners will expect a good standard of driving over many traffic systems including open and closed (blind) Junctions and crossroads.
Residential areas often have many mini roundabouts and are ideally suited to one of the possible four driving test manoeuvres. Out of every three driving tests conducted, one emergency stop procedure is requested by the examiner.
From the Show Me Tell Me questions at the start of the test to parking up at the end, the practical driving test takes around 30 to 40 minutes.

Im a woman of 58 who took her test in balkymena twice and failed This time the examiner was excellent ..eventhough I failed (through one stupid thing ) I have to give credit ..he was very patient and explained everything fully to my husband after the test I am now looking to go back again ..but to my suprise there is no availability ..which is a good sign ..Looking forward to when I can go get my test and feel much more confident after the explanation was given . Thank you so much
This test centre has lost any respect i had for it due to hiring examiners who just started in December 2021 and has obviously no clue on how to examiner properly. He fails people when they should pass, yet passes people who have actually hit the instructors cars leaving massive scrapes along the bumper. His excuse was that the actual tyre wasnt hit, how is this even possible? Meanwhile people who should pass, he is being really harsh with. This is not the right job for this examiner and there are a lot of people complaining about him, but apparently afraid to put their names to the complaint as it doesn't go down well to complain which is extremely unfair.
